Here at Satterfield Construction, we were so moved by the good work Greenwood Pathway House is doing to serve Greenwood, South Carolina’s homeless population, that we wanted to move heaven and earth to help.
It’s our hope that publicizing our donation will inspire other local companies and individuals to join us in supporting this compassionate, life-changing ministry. In 2017, Greenwood Pathway House served more than 190 men, 60 women, and 16 children at its Dr. Jack and Barbara Parham Campus. In 2018, the ministry will expand its shelters for men, women, and children who would otherwise struggle to make a life on our community’s streets.
Greenwood Pathway House’s mission statement is “to help those individuals navigate a structured pathway to physical, financial, and social stability – all while sharing with them the love of God.” The ministry provides safe, warm, dry short-term accommodations for its clients.
But Greenwood Pathway House also encourages and equips its clients to get the healing, education, and job training they need to become productive members of our community. Just one exciting way they make a life-changing difference is through its “Furnishing a Future” program. This workshop gives homeless clients the opportunity to learn woodworking and furniture restoration skills – a skillset that could lead to long-term employment.
As a construction company that has specialized in building safe, sustainable highways since 1954, we count it an honor to help such a fine organization to fulfill its mission. If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or learn about Greenwood Pathway House too, visit them online.
